5 Shopping Hacks You Must Try

5 Shopping Hacks You Must Try

Alright, who doesn`t like to go shopping? When it’s time to pay, however, we might not be so happy. So, what if I told you there is a way to save money and make money just by shopping? No this is not a scheme or a joke. Check out these five shopping hacks! They are super easy and FREE!

1. When shopping online use Ibotta

You can shop from hundreds of retailers at the convenience of your cell phone. Many of these retailers offer free shipping. Better yet, you earn cash back on every purchase. Use the code WMTINDL you will automatically get $10! After redeeming $20, you can automatically transfer that money to your pay pal account. Then, you can move the money directly to your bank account all at no charge. You are already halfway to your first redemption just by signing up! Invite friends to join. When they do use your code not only do you get a bonus, but they become a part or your team. The bigger your team, the faster you earn. The more friends on your team, the easier it is to receive your Teamwork bonuses, every month. All online purchases will credit automatically. If shopping in an actual store, you just need to snap a picture of the receipt an upload it. You gotta Ibotta!

2. Sign up for rewards and customer loyalty programs everywhere you shop

While the benefits will vary from retailer to retailer, you will see rewards from cash back, to special sales, to customer rewards discounts, and more. Take Ulta for example. You get points for every dollar spent. You will also receive bonus points for special promotions. The best part is you get a FREE gift on your birthday. The more you expend, the more you get back. There are three levels of membership. Member, Platinum, and Diamond. You reach each level by the amount you spend in a year. For more details go to Ulta. Also, many items you buy at Ulta will even come with a free gift. They are trial sized, but who complains about free beauty products? Everyone has a loyalty program right now. Some of my other favorites are AMC Insiders Level, Dunkin’ Donuts, CVS, Petco Pals Rewards, and the list goes on and on. Most of these will offer you free stuff on your birthday, so make sure to include your D.O.B when registering.

3. Start your online shopping Wednesday for the best deals and the largest selections.

Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are the most popular days for retailers to roll out new sales and discount/promo codes. Everything worthwhile is worth waiting for. You can save some bucks by holding off until Wednesday through Friday after retailers have rolled out new sales and discount/promo codes. If you are online shopping and waiting for the rollout of new deals, and discount/ promo codes, add what you are looking to buy your shopping cart but don’t check out until Wednesday through Friday. When you add some products to your shopping cart but don’t check out, many retailers will send you a discount or promo code. Some will just email you a reminder, but it doesn’t hurt to see if you will get the discount. Amazon is not a retailer who does this; they only send reminders. Avoid that temptation to spend a lazy Sunday shopping.

4. Coupon codes, coupon codes, coupon codes

There are coupons everywhere. Whether you get one from being a loyalty rewards member or visit the social media pages of the retailers you are looking to purchase from you will be saving money. There are many coupon selling sites where you can buy coupons of your favorite brands. I recommend the site pennysaviour. You will find discount coupons in bulk at the site. PennySaviour works with a ton of retailers including Amazon, Nike, Papa Johns, Nordstrom, Forever 21, Sephora, Bloomingdales, Kohl’s, and many more. Lastly, you can even Google it to watch for current coupon codes for the retailer you are making a purchase through. Companies who have been known to do this are Pottery Barn, Dollar Shave Club, Gap, Old Navy, and more.

5. Don’t be shy, ask for discounts directly

Whether in the store or online ask what discounts are available. Usually, when shopping online, we’ve all seen the little chat box pop up and ask if we need help. Don’t be so quick to close that screen. Ask if there are any available discounts or promo codes. Chatting not an option? Try calling customer service (make sure you get an actual person) or email.  Try GetHuman to find the phone numbers for retailers that will actually put you in touch with a human. However, today companies are much more responsive through social media. So you can also try reaching out on one of their social media platforms.
