Virtual Reality (VR), A Reality?

When someone says VR, what do you think of? Kids wearing oversized goggles, that cover half of their faces? Someone staring at the wall with some sort of head device on? Some video game that everyone says is the best? Well, when I hear VR, I think of a place where you can go anywhere, be anything, do anything, and try anything. All from your living room or bedroom!

Yes, you read that correctly.

That’s the whole point of VR (Virtual reality), to be free to go where you want and do what you want, all from the comfort of your home.  Just download an app, slide your phone into the headset, then lean back and have fun!

For example, Lenovo created Star Wars: Jedi Challenges VR set so you could become a Jedi and wield a lightsaber. Another example is the Kellogg Marvel Civil War VR app, you can be either Captain America or Iron Man, and fight Crossbones and his henchmen. Not into Marvel or Star Wars? No problem! There are over one million Virtual Reality apps for you to discover, in the Google Play and App Store.

But, you don’t have to use it just for entertainment. You can learn something new, by trying out educational apps.

Explore thousand-year-old cities, watch your organs pump blood in your body, try your hand at sculpting, or discover what happens to an ecosystem after a river is dammed. These are only a few of the millions of things, you can learn about in the immersive world of VR.

With this new technology, learning anything is more immersive than ever before! You can be part of what you are learning and make decisions. You can try things out and see what happens. More importantly, you can undo your choices! So, don’t worry if a river floods into some crops, you used the wrong color on your painting, or put a robot together incorrectly. Just reverse it, via the app you’re using.

That’s the beauty of this new tech: There’s never anything you can’t change or correct!

Another side to Virtual Reality is that, even if you have a cold, or it’s raining outside, you can have a ton of fun! No more watching the clock, watching cars pass, or staring out a window. Just open an app, pop your phone into your headset, and you’re ready to play.

If your friend has a headset too, you can play a game together. Try building a castle with your buddy on Minecraft, or maybe evade some zombies. Your choice!

So, with all that being said, Virtual Reality is a reality.

Furthermore, it is being used more and more every day, whether, for entertainment, education, or meeting new people, it is being used regularly.

This technology is being expanded and further developed every day. People are hard at work making it more physical and sensory oriented, making VR more immersive than we could ever dream of.

The developers also hope, to make the headsets less bulky, and more lightweight, so that you can enjoy it even more.

An example, of what developers hope to evolve Virtual Reality into, is shown in the latest movie Ready Player One. The VR is so advanced in that movie that you could lose track of what is real and what isn’t.

It may be a few years prior Virtual Reality reaches that place, but it is still the most exciting experience on the planet.

An experience that everyone should have a chance to participate in.

So, why deprive yourself any longer? You can get your very own VR headset today, and it won’t cost you very much.

Headsets can range from $15 -$900, so there is a headset for any budget! The only thing that matters is: Which type of Virtual Reality Player are you?
